have
nothing unusual to report about the homestays in Taketa City and Matsuyama,
Japan. The Japan exchange was my first exchange experience. My only regret
is that I did not spend more time studying and leaning more of the Japanese
language. The
most unusual thing was in the San Francisco airport, where Willie Nelson’s
double was in line for United check-in with a five gallon plastic pail and
a shopping bag as his traveling gear. He paid for his ticket with a roll
of cash after some lengthy discussion with the ticket agent.
Mike
Heavican and I had never met personally before the Japan trip. We were compatible
roommates. I am looking forward to the Birmingham, Alabama exchange in June.
